The service
Talerie is a free library of classic fairy tales. You can read everything without an account, without payment, and without advertising.
The tales are Talerie retellings based on public-domain sources, prepared for pleasant reading aloud. We may add, change, or remove tales and features at any time.
Content and licensing
The tale texts published on Talerie are released into the public domain under a Creative Commons Zero (CC0) dedication. You may read, copy, share, adapt, and reuse them freely, including commercially, without asking permission.
Everything else is not covered by that dedication. The Talerie name, logo, visual design, and the illustrations and cover artwork remain our property. Please do not use them in a way that suggests affiliation with, or endorsement by, Talerie without our consent.
Acceptable use
Please use Talerie in a fair and lawful way. Do not disrupt the service, attempt to break its security, or place an unreasonable load on it through automated access.
Reasonable, well-behaved crawling that respects our robots.txt is welcome.
No warranty
Talerie is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind. We take care to present the tales faithfully, but we do not guarantee that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site.
Links to other sites
Talerie may link to external sources, such as the public-domain texts it is based on. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of other websites.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. The current version is always the one published here, with its effective date. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the updated terms.
Governing law and language
These terms are governed by the law of the Czech Republic, and any disputes will be decided by the competent courts of the Czech Republic. If you are a consumer, this does not affect the mandatory protections you enjoy under the law of your country of residence.
Talerie is published in several languages. The English version of these terms is the authoritative one. Other language versions are provided for convenience, and in case of any discrepancy the English version prevails.
