Name

Talerie

Always a capital T, never TALERIE or talerie.

In one sentence

The classic fairy tales, written again so they read well aloud. You can open any of them free, in seven languages.

A short paragraph

If you have ever stumbled through a hundred-year-old translation at bedtime, that is why Talerie exists. Grimm, Andersen, Perrault and Aesop are written again here in plain present-day sentences, with illustrations made for each story. Nothing to pay, nothing to sign up for, and the same tale is there in seven languages.

A longer piece

Talerie is a small library of the tales most of us grew up with: Grimm, Andersen, Perrault, Aesop. The old translations are heavy going when you are reading to a child, so the stories have been written again in ordinary modern language, and every one has illustrations of its own. Open a tale and start reading. There is nothing to pay, no account, no advertising. Each story has its own page in seven languages, so a child learning Spanish or German can come back to a story they already know in the language they are learning. There are printable coloring pages as well, and the texts are free for anyone to use.
