Joseph Jacobs

Joseph Jacobs (1854-1916) was an Australian-born folklorist who gathered and retold the traditional tales of the British Isles. His collections, above all English Fairy Tales, gave stories such as The Three Little Pigs and Jack and the Beanstalk the clear, lively shape in which children still meet them today.
