Nils Gabriel Djurklou

Nils Gabriel Djurklou (1829–1904) was a Swedish baron and folklorist, among the first to gather his country’s folk tales in the living voice of the people who told them. His collections preserved wry, warmhearted stories like Stone Soup, in which a little cleverness and a little generosity turn almost nothing into a feast.
