Heart coloring pages

These heart coloring pages play with one shape in many ways: a heart with feathered wings, one filled with daisies, a heart balloon on a curling string, a tree whose crown is made of hearts, and a cat asleep with its tail curled into the shape.

The simple sheets, such as three hearts in a row or one heart held in two cupped hands, have thick outlines and a lot of open space. The heart mandala, the padlock with an ornate key and the patterned heart with eight bands are for patient colorers.

The patterned heart is a good place to try a limited palette. Choose three colors, maybe pink, red and purple, and repeat them across the stripes, dots and zigzags. A heart with a thick outline also looks good cut out and glued onto colored paper.

Hearts are not only for Valentine’s Day. A finished sheet makes a thank-you note for a teacher, a get-well card or a birthday card, and the garland of seven hearts can be cut out and strung across a window.
