Spider coloring pages

These spider coloring pages are friendly enough for kids who are not sure about spiders. A spider knits a long striped scarf, another greets a butterfly in the garden, a family sits in a row on a branch and three little spiders have a tea party in their web.

Simple sheets include a smiling spider in the middle of its web, a spider sliding down a thread, one waving from a leaf in a tiny hat and a big web with dewdrops between two fence posts. The tea party and the knitting spider are more detailed.

Webs are hard to color thread by thread. Instead, color the background between the threads in one dark color and leave the web itself white, so the threads appear to glow. A silver gel pen on the dewdrops finishes the effect.

Spiders fit Halloween, but also a nature walk on an autumn morning when real webs in the hedges are covered in dew. Coloring a friendly spider before going to look at a real one can help a nervous child feel brave enough to get a little closer.
