About this category
Every sheet is built on the same arch of six bands, and what changes is the company it keeps. Clouds rest under both ends, a sun looks over the top, three birds cross the middle, hearts drift above, a second arch rises behind the first, and rain comes down from the underside of a cloud. The busier half adds a pot of coins where the arch lands, a castle with pennants on its towers, three children with a kite, a row of flowers with butterflies among them, a sleeping cat stretched along the highest band, and a child holding an umbrella up into the rain.
The arch with two clouds is little more than wide stripes, which is where a two or three year old should start. The pot of coins and the flower row repeat small shapes over and over and will keep a school age child sitting. These are the sheets where children reach for every pencil in the box. Fill the bands from the inside of the curve outward, so the hand keeps resting on blank paper and the arch stays clean.
