Knight coloring pages

Knight coloring pages need a castle around them, and this set has the whole thing: a knight and his squire polishing armor by the stables, two knights jousting before a cheering crowd, a royal feast in the great hall, and a grand castle with its drawbridge lowered over the moat.

Younger children can start with the little castle on a hill, the knight holding a round shield with a star or the young knight in shining armor, all drawn large with few details. The courtyard fountain and the tournament scene suit older kids with patience.

Armor looks like metal when it is colored in gray and left partly white where the light hits. A coat of arms is a chance to invent a family emblem: pick two colors, split the shield in half, and add one simple animal or star in the middle.

Some of the castle scenes belong to stories, such as Jack climbing the beanstalk toward the giant’s castle, the brave little tailor facing a giant, and Sister Anne watching from the tower in Bluebeard. Their QR codes open the tale itself, so a picture can lead straight into reading.
